The Power of a ‘Full-Body Yes’ – How to Make Decisions with Confidence and Clarity

When faced with choices regarding birth, no matter how big or small – decision making can feel overwhelming.

Assuming you have weighed the pros and cons, sought advice, and overanalysed every detail about your answer, how can you be sure you will make the right decision?

You can’t!

Unless, you tell yourself to trust your gut.

That you remind yourself that your body already knows the answer!

What is a Full Body YES!

You see, the concept of a ‘full-body yes‘ is a simple one. It is your intuitive approach to making decisions that feel aligned with your authentic self – and should therefore be easy.

If a decision doesn’t resonate deeply in your body as a clear ‘yes’, it might be your signal that it’s a ‘no’.

A ‘full-body yes’ happens when your entire being aligns with a choice – and your mind, emotions, and body are all in harmony.

They are signalling excitement, peace, or clarity about moving forward.

It’s not just logical agreement; it’s a visceral feeling of certainty.

When you experience a full-body yes, you might notice:

  • A feeling of openness or lightness in your chest or heart.
  • Excitement or energy surging through your body.
  • A deep sense of calm and alignment.
  • A quiet certainty, even if the choice involves challenges.

In contrast, when something is a ‘no’; your body often sends signals such as:

  • Tightness in the chest or stomach.
  • A sense of dread or heaviness.
  • Restlessness, unease, or hesitation.
  • Overwhelming mental chatter without clear resolution.

Why Trusting Your Body Matters

Your subconscious mind and body are constantly processing information – more than your conscious mind can handle.

This innate wisdom often knows what’s best for you before you can fully articulate it. Learning to listen to these signals can help you:

  • Make Faster Decisions: No more endless second-guessing or analysis paralysis.
  • Align With Your Values: Choices that feel right physically often reflect your truest desires and needs.
  • Reduce Regret: When a decision comes from full-body alignment, you’re less likely to question yourself later.

How to Tune into a Full-Body Yes

  1. Pause and Breathe: Before deciding, take a moment to close your eyes and connect with your breath. This helps clear mental noise and tunes you into your body’s signals.
  2. Visualise the Choice: Imagine yourself saying ‘yes’ to the decision. Notice how your body reacts – do you feel expansive, energised, and clear, or tight, heavy, and uncertain?
  3. Check for Alignment: Ask yourself:
    • Does this choice support my long-term goals and values?
    • Do I feel genuinely excited or at peace about this decision?
    • If fear or doubt is present, is it protective hesitation or a sign I’m off course?
  4. Trust the Process: Even if the answer surprises you, learn to honor the signals your body is giving. Over time, your ability to discern a full-body yes will sharpen.

When a Full-Body Yes Isn’t Immediate

Sometimes decisions are complex, and clarity doesn’t come right away. In those cases:

  • Give Yourself Time: It’s okay to pause and revisit the decision later.
  • Identify External Pressure: Are you feeling rushed or influenced by others’ opinions? Clear this noise to hear your internal voice.
  • Revisit Your Priorities: Focus on what truly matters and whether the decisions align with your personal values.

Empower Your Life with Intentional Choices

Living by the ‘full-body yes’ principles, isn’t about seeking perfection – it’s about making decisions that feel deeply aligned with your inner wisdom. When you listen to your body, you build trust in yourself, gain clarity, and move forward with confidence.

If it’s not a clear ‘yes’, honour yourself by saying ‘no’.

In doing so, you create space for decisions that truly resonate and propel you toward a more authentic and fulfilling life.
