Doula & Birthkeeper

Childbirth is a normal part of life and I know that the overwhelming majority of women in my care are capable of giving birth physiologically – if it is their dream to do so. I passionately believe that everyone should be supported in understanding the choices available to them throughout pregnancy, birth and parenthood. Only then can they make informed decisions and approach labour confidently and calmly.

As a doula and birthkeeper, I have now helped over 1000+ women and their partners, both in and out of the birth room. So, no matter what kind of birth you choose, I will be there to provide the support, guidance and experience that you need, in order to achieve your birth choices.

Support from a confident and experienced birthkeeper during your labour can make a difference to the outcome, both physically and mentally

During a booking interview, I will meet you either online or face to face. By talking together, I will be able to ascertain your preferences for labour and birth and discuss them with you in great detail. I offer a wide range of expertise, knowledge and experience, which will be extremely helpful in supporting you to make well-informed decisions regarding your own individual circumstances. I also offer a full range of packages to suit every client’s needs and can discuss these with you at this appointment.

Following booking, depending on your chosen package, I will meet with you several times in advance of birth to get to know you and your partner, and learn more about your individual beliefs and wishes for labour.

On the day of your birth, I will be the familiar face that arrives knowing exactly how to support you

I am on call for you from the moment you book – by offering ongoing text, email and phone support 24/7. You will know and feel confident about how to access my support in labour, and once I arrive, I will stay with you until your baby is born. I will also come and see you after the birth for a postpartum debrief session.

In most cases, I adopt a ‘less is more’ approach and sit quietly out of your eyeline. If required, I will be on hand to show your partner how to help you both physically and mentally, and I also have a wide range of tips and tricks up my sleeve in case it becomes necessary to offer a more ‘hands on’ style of support. I can be your advocate, and liase with your care providers if you want me too, and also help to ensure that if decisions do need to be made, that you feel fully informed about all of your options in order to take complete ownership of your birth experience.

It goes without saying that I would recommend everyone hire a doula or birthkeeper to help them achieve the birth of their dreams – so get in touch today and learn more about how I can support your birth ❤️.

Virtual Doula/Doula In Your Pocket

If you prefer, you can hire me as a remote/virtual doula.

Antenatal Only – I offer the same service as a face to face doula during the antenatal period, except all our meetings and calls will be held online. You can purchase time with me for your entire pregnancy, or on a month by month basis.

Antenatal and Birth – If you choose to, you can also hire me to be with you virtually during your birth – where I offer a calm and experienced presence at the end of the phone. Having support and guidance with a ‘doula in your pocket’ will be invaluable to both you and your birth partner. I offer you the confidence to know when things are going well, I can suggest tips and tricks to help with confidence dips, getting comfortable etc:- and when to move forward with accessing medical support if required.

This has become an incredibly popular service since covid times – particularly if you would prefer to have a close relative as your second birth partner, and has the added advantage of you having access to my support, no matter where you live in the world.
